I just checked and I’m a little shocked. I would have thought wind chill would have been much worse than -4!
I rushed the season a little bit, since the roads are currently mostly bare. Rushed. Heh. It was 20 degrees (Fahrenheit) this morning when I backed the Rune out of the garage. So I thought that the windchill would be a little bit more severe at 60 mph … but what the heck. It sure was nice to be back on 2 wheels. Especially with $3.35 gas – the 40 mpg sure beats the 18-19 mpg the minivan gets!
Hopefully the roads stay clear … I’d rather be cold than continue to open my wallet at the gas pump. <g>

I live vicariously through you!
(had to sell the last bike – a Kaw ZN1100 – when we moved to CO…3 years ago!!!)
MuscleMommy has reached her limit of having to rouse me out of staring longingly @ the Rockies, and insists that as soon as the FL house sells, I get the sidecar-Ural I’ve been eyeing since ‘05.
(that way I can take MuscleBaby-the-Elder – who she regularly reaches her limit of – with me!)
Know anyone who wants to buy a house in a small town (Dade City) north of Tampa?

Sorry to hear you’re dreaming instead of riding! Although I’m not sure about a Ural as a goal … LOL … isn’t that a little like a 2 wheeled Yugo? (I’ve seen the ads for them and they’re probably bulletptoof, considering how stripped down to essentials they are).
We’re headed a little south tomorrow to look a an older Jaguar for the bikerspouse. She’s been very patient with me over the past half dozen years since my bike acquisition gland kicked into high gear, and I figure spending $5 grand to make her happy is a small price against the $100+ grand I’ve spent on bikes and a motorhome.
I’m slowly starting to get into the "ready to retire" mode, but I’m afraid Florida isn’t on my radar. Way too taxy for my blood … maybe South Carolina (as close to NC as possible). We’ll be taking weekend trips to Kentucky and Tennessee this year to see if we can find a good place to retire … I’d really like to have everything ready, and paid for, before I cut the strings. And I sure don’t want anyplace thats going to tax my pension away from me just because I like toys … LOL.
I’m hoping to find time this weekend to take pics of the speed sensor module … the ones I took last week sucked. And I’m going to pick up a couple of doors on the way to Jag-viewing tomorrow. Found a couple of F150 doors for $60, as the current door (drivers side) has enough bottom rust that I can watch the white line beside me as I drive.

Ah – Taxy is as taxy does… No state income tax.
MuscleGrampaw keeps a house in FL as his "primary residence", so GA (10ft from NC – where he spends most of his time) doesn’t take a bite out of his pension….
Shoot me an email!

Hi Pete,
Beckie and I are hoping that you are doing well (as well as can be expected, at least) We were very sorry to hear what happened. We think about you often, as you are quite the memorable type person.
Wishing you well, “you hoser” eh?
